Tuesday 1 March, 2016
Dear parents and carers,
I am really pleased to announce that governors appointed Mr Ben Commins as the new headteacher of Queen’s Park primary school yesterday evening.
Mr Commins was appointed after a tough day-long recruitment process. Governors looked for a headteacher who could lead staff to give our children an outstanding education and the best possible start to their lives. We strongly believe we have found such a headteacher in Mr Commins.
Mr Commins will start as headteacher in September 2016. In the meantime, Mrs Diane Buckle will remain as Executive Head and Mr Commins as Head of School.
As Executive Head, Mrs Buckle leads Queen’s Park and Essendine schools and divides her time between the two. Mrs Buckle is responsible for working with Mr Commins and the staff to develop an action plan to allow our children to become outstanding learners. She has transformed Essendine school and her knowledge and experience will develop the Queen’s Park school leadership team further.
As Head of School, Mr Commins is responsible for the day to day running of the school and is acting head when Mrs Buckle is not here.
I hope you will join me in congratulating Mr Commins on his appointment.
Yours sincerely,
Simon Kaplan
Chair of governors
