Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Governors have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education and opportunities from our school. The governors have to:
Therefore governors aren’t responsible for the day-to-day running of the school – that’s the job of the headteacher.
A governor is elected or appointed for four years. Governors have the right and responsibility to express their view in discussions at the governing body and vote accordingly. However, once a decision has been taken all governors have a collective responsibility to support the decisions of the governing body and act together.
Organisation of the governing body
The full governing body meets at least 3 times a year. We have two sub committees which also meet 3 times a year to discuss issues in more depth. They are the Resources Committee and Quality and Standards Committee.
The Finance and resources committee is responsible for ensuring the school budget is spent wisely, the maintenance of the school ground, health and safety issues and the well-being of the school staff.
The Quality and Standards Committee is responsible for the quality of teaching and the school curriculum.

Attendance at full governing body
The table below shows governors attendance at full governing body meetings over the last year. ‘NA’ means not applicable - this could mean a staff member on the governing body left the school or wasn’t yet on the governing body. A tick means the governor was at the meeting and a cross means they were absent.
