  • Mental Health Parent Champions

    Following training all our staff in Mental Health First Aid, we are now looking to train a number of our parents to become Mental Health Champions. These parents will be around to support the school community in signposting to appropriate help.

     

     

  • Queen's Park Mental Health Awards

    In March 2020 we will be hosting our first local authority mental health awards. We have had the privilege of working with some amazing charities along our way and we now get to give something back.   • Miss Mackinlay's Transition Programme

    Miss Mackinlay has been awarded funding from WCC My Westminster Fund. This is to support a transition programme from children across Year 6. Putting in place mentors from within the school, sharing fantastic activities and building confidence and independence through a difficult transitional process.

    We were encouraged to see that Westminster Children's University which started out at Queen's Park has been recommended to be introduced across the whole of Westminster. Please see the attached PDF with recommendations.

  • Queen's Park Primary awarded Centre of Excellence for Mental Health and Wellbeing

    We continue to strive to give the best possible support for all stake holders not just in our school but across Westminster. As such following a programme of school to school support and mental health training we were awarded Centre of Excellence by Westminster Council.

  • Tender: Award for Healthy Relationships

    We were delighted to win the national award for healthy relationships and making a stand against Domestic Violence. We continue to open up the discussion in the hope that our children can make a difference and speak out.

     

  • National Award for services to Children and Young People's Mental Health

    We were so pleased to be nominated and win the National Award for Learning and Education at the Positive Practice Awards 2018 at Manchester Town Hall. We have invested a lot of time and effort in ensuring that we provide support across the school and create a positive environment where we understand metacognition and factors that affect mental health. 

    We will continue to share the work we are doing and hope that other schools follow suit.

  • Queen's Park Primary awarded Mayor Of London's Workplace Charter Commitment Level

    We are pleased to announce we received an award from the Mayor of London, celebrating Queen's Park Primary's commitment to staff wellbeing. 

     

    Mr Commins and Mrs Killip went to City Hall to receive the award in person.

     

    Upon receiving our award we were given the following letter:

     

    The Healthy Workplace Charter is the first pan-London framework that supports and recognises investment in staff health and wellbeing, partnering local public health resource with employers.  You are one of over 170 organisations that have met the standards to date.  All of your hard work is helping to improve the health of Londoners and showcase the Charter as a valuable framework for other employers to invest in staff health and wellbeing. 

     

    We are delighted to receive this award and want to continue putting wellbeing at the front of all that we do at Queen's Park Primary.
