  • Georgina and Emma

Mon 06 Mar 2017 Lyndsy Killip

Today we were visited by 2 authors who came into school to share with our children how to write a book. Our intervention groups for dedicated writers got to ask questions of Georgina and Emma authors of 'The College Collection'.

Needless to say, a great time was had by all!

Georgina and Emma praised our children for such fantastic story writing and good questioning. I think we have some authors in the making!

  • Music is everything

Sun 05 Mar 2017 Lyndsy Killip

On Saturday 4th March our keen Year 3 musicians were invited to perform at Royal Festival Hall. Along with Mr Almond, our well rehearsed violinists and singers performed amongst many National Philharmonic Musicians and children from across a number of schools.

Many parents were in the audience beaming with pride as their children performed the songs they had practiced with Music Masters, our 'in house' musician team.

As Deputy Head at Queen's Park I was delighted to see such talent and can't wait to see future performances.

Well done to all those who managed to be there.

  • Rocket STEAM

    Thu 02 Mar 2017

Nick Corston of STEAM Co came to visit Queen's Park on Thursday. As part of world book day, Reception to Year 6 got to take part in an assembly based on the book and film 'Rocket Boys' a journey of aspiration, invention and family.

Following the assembly we all went outside to watch an official Rocket Launch from our playground. The children absolutely loved it.

Year 4 were lucky enough to then make their own rockets and with the help of Nick try launching them.

Thank you Nick for a great day!
